Moving Day is Upon Us

Well moving day is almost here...sort of. We are relocating to Ottawa at the end of the work week and will be temporarily living with Grandpa and Grandma Uppal in Orleans (eastern suburb of Ottawa) until our home is ready. Daddy will need to come to Toronto once more during the month to receive the movers on the 23rd. We are getting a little painting done in our new home but hope to be living there by the 24th of October. We can't wait to be back living in a house where Jaiden, Ariya, and Kailen will have more room to explore, especially as they learn to crawl over the coming months.

We will miss Toronto!

We will miss our nanny, Sarah, who has been here with us from even before the babies were born. She has been pivotal in getting us through the last seven months and we aren't quite sure what we would have done without her. We hope we can find someone just like her in Ottawa...the search continues! We wish Sarah all the best with her job at Mount Sinai and her new nanny position! Thank you Sarah :)

We will miss our friends - everyone has been so supportive and helpful and we hope you come and visit us soon in Ottawa.

On the flip side, we will not miss commuting on the busiest highway in the world (Hwy 401), and look forward to a calmer pace of life in Ottawa (aka Otown) :)

7 Months Old!!!

The babies are seven months old!!

Time is flying by and the babies are growing up so quickly.

Jaiden can now sit by himself (see video below). He enjoys eating solid foods and is in the habit of testing out his voice. He loves to scream and sometimes it's almost like he is competing with himself on how loud of a shriek he can make. We have recently nick-named him 'tom-cat' or just 'cat'. He often sounds like some sort of feline critter. Jaiden also likes to flip up onto his tummy from his back side - he is getting so good at this. The only problem is that he hasn't figured out how to roll back onto his back-side...so he generally cries out for help because he gets stuck :) JJ is generally a much calmer boy than he used to be and he is no longer 60% of our energy :)

Ariya Bella is a little doll and daddy's little girl. She is full of smiles and greets daddy with an ear to ear smile and lots of excitement everyday after I get home from work. She's a little bundle of joy. Unfortunately, she doesn't like to sleep on time like her brothers and typically stays out for at least an hour longer nightly...which cuts into our much needed downtime at the end of the day. Mommy is typically the only one that has success in putting her to bed - she likes to be rocked and cuddled to sleep. Mommy sings to Ariya at night and that really does work. The Bella baby is also starting to talk a lot more now..in the past she was much quieter than her brothers and this is quickly changing! Ariya can also sit up now.

Kailen is not much of a Koala Bear anymore! He is vocal, and he loves to scream when he wants his way. Our calm koala is now becoming more aggressive - I guess he learned a little something from the old feisty Jaiden! Kailen is full of laughter and smiles these days. He is showing some first signs of crawling too - if you put him on his tummy he now puts his bum up and sometimes makes backward and side movements..can't wait for him to crawl. Kailen loves solid foods, and well...food in general. He typically eats the most! Kailen's favourite game is peek-a-boo and he is also ableto sit now.

Last weekend, we travelled back to Toronto from Ottawa and took the scenic ride home (Hwy 7). It was a nice drive until mommy and daddy realized that we didn't pack any diapers for the trip home. The poor kids had to suffer in dirty diapers until we reached the half way point in Belleville where we found diapers at a Shoppers Drugmart. That was one tough lesson learned for the future.

The countdown to our move date is fast approaching. We're going to miss T.O.!

Daddu and Daddi Visit & A Trip to Ottawa

It's been a fun couple of weeks for the us babies - Daddu and Daddi (i.e. Grandpa and Grandma Gera) came to visit us in Toronto. We love Daddu and Daddi; they pick us up all the time and play with us! We did lots of walks together around Rosedale and the forest. We love the sounds of nature and how mommy cuddles us when we're cold (see below pic of mommy cuddling Kailen).

Since then we've come to visit our new home town - Ottawa! We can't wait to move here and we'll be visiting for a few more days before coming back to Toronto to pack up the apartment. We are staying with Nanni and Nanna (i.e. Grandma and Grandpa Uppal). We are having lots of fun and have recently started eating solid foods!!...It's so yummy. Some days we eat mushed up peas, and some days carrots....it's a nice change from having milk all the time.

It's amazing how each of the babies has developed a special talent!

Ariya is our little acrobat - she loves to juggle with her feet ;) If you put her on her swing, she can often be found juggling the swing's tray from one foot to the other. Sometimes, she multitasks and holds the tray up with one foot while putting her free foot in her mouth... all while the swing is swaying back and forth at a high velocity.

Jaiden is a comedian - he loves to laugh and make others laugh. When he gets in front of an audience he's sure to put on a show. Jaiden's talent is his uncontrollable laughing and chuckling....so cute!

Kailen is a 'god father' - no joke; he is our little mafia man. He often wakes us up at 6AM putting on his god father voice and talking like he's the 'boss' of us...so funny to wake up to.

Happy Rakhi Ariya!

Yesterday, Ariya tied her first Rakhi's on her brothers Kailen, and Jaiden! Here is a little about this Indian tradition from another website:

"Rakhi is a major Hindu festival when women tie Rakhi or amulet on the wrists of their brothers. Rakhi is more popularly known as a Hindu brother-sister's day as they reaffirm their love and affection. Sisters tie colourful threads on their brother`s wrists. The brothers in turn promise to protect their sisters and give them gifts."

Jaiden and Kailen promised to protect their sister (especially to help daddy fend off all those boys in the future) and blessed Ariya with some gifts, while Ariya tied wrist amulets on her brothers and blessed them with long life!

6 Months Old!!!!!!

6 Months Old!

It's hard to comprehend how time flies by so quickly and how the babies are growing up so fast. We feel so blessed to have three healthy children - in all that could have went wrong with three premie-babies everything so far has turned out just fine...the babies are developing as they should. We feel so thankful for all the support from our family, friends, and our nanny for helping us through.

Reflecting back on six months, the memories of what they were like when they were first born are starting to fade a bit. I still can't believe that they were born weighing only 3-4 lbs. They are now 13-15 lbs!

As first time parents, it has been an adventure raising three little babies all at once; there have been many difficult moments but those have all been overshadowed by the joy that these three angels have given us. Of course, these babies are lucky to have a super mom that was simply meant to be a mom of triplets.
