Immunization Shots

Our poor little babies got their second immunization shot today. They are all a bit under the weather this evening, but I'm sure they will be feeling better tomorrow. Geeta tells me that Kailen and Jaiden cried a lot when they got their shots, while Ariya seemed to handle it a bit better.
... Nothing worse than seeing our little ones upset ;(

Updates on weights & heights...all babies put on about 2.5lbs this month!!
They continue to drink lots of milk and are packing on the pounds. Although they are 4 months old, they are considered 2 months old now (adjusted age) since they were premature.
Kailen: 12lbs 10 oz, 75% percentile weight & height
Jaiden: 11lbs 7 oz, 50% percentile weight & height
Ariya: 10lbs 5oz, 50% percentile weight & height

Developing hand coordination!

The babies continue to develop and learn new things. This week we've seen the kids starting to develop hand coordination. Ariya attempts to put her soother in her mouth when it falls out, and Jaiden and Kailen are starting grab their milk bottles.

Speaking of soother's, when the babies were first born and had a bit of stay in the hospital the nurses had gotten the kids hooked on a particular type of soother. After a few weeks of being home we started losing the small supply of them that the hospital gave us... so Geeta and I tried a number of different types with no luck. As a result, Geeta did some web searching and found the manufacturer of that hospital soother - she found it and placed an order!! These soothers are like gold ...we call them the magic soothers...it's often the only thing that can soothe the kids and get them to stop crying! We are happy to report that we just received shipment of the order and these ones come complete with clips so that we can start clipping them to their clothing and hopefully stop losing them.

In a few weeks, we'll be making our first family trip - Geeta and I plan to make our first visit with the kids to our home town in Ottawa. The kids have yet to meet their cousins and we are excited for them to meet! I'm definitely looking for a small break from work too and spending some with Geeta and our little angels!

Things Are Getting a Bit Easier...

Another weekend down!

Everytime we get through another weekend there's this sense of accomplishment in the air. Typically, by Sunday night Geeta and I are poofed. We are generally sleep-deprived, a bit grouchy, and in need of a bit of down time. Over the last couple of weekends there is definately a trend towards things getting better. The babies are often sleepling for 6-8 hour stretches at night - however they typically go down between 8pm or 9pm which mean a 4am feed and that never very fun ...but it's getting easier than a month ago. I get the feeling that we've crossed the hump in terms of difficulty. The last few months have been tough physically, and mentally on the two of us but we're getting through it one day at a time with the help of family, friends, and our nanny. Geeta is such a trooper - she finds energy when she's barely had any sleep...still not sure how she is doing it but it's amazing to watch.

As always on weekends, the kids were sleeping in our bed between us and last night it rained heavily for the first time since the kids had been home. We had the windows open so there was plenty of noise coming in from the outside. The boys, Jaiden and Kailen, were wide awake listening to it...it was very cute to wake up only to see 2 pairs of eyes stairing at the window. I happened to wake up a couple of times and would catch their precious expressions - they were in awe while listening to the sound of the rain...almost intrigued. Unfortunately, when it would rain hard they would get scared and would let out a bit of cry...very cute though!

On a side note, our little Kailen has now officially adopted his pet name - the 'Koala Bear'. Kailen is a sleepy little boy who loves to cling to anyone that will hold him. He clings to you like a Koala Bear would to a tree....he just needs a tree to find comfort and he'll fall asleep!

Kailen, the 'Koala Bear' - check out his shirt...thank you Jessica Auntie!

Last week, Jessica Auntie came to visit from Ottawa

Summer is on the Horizon!

The weather has been so amazing this week - Geeta and I have been trying to make a habit of taking walks around the neighborhood. The babies just love the fresh air and so do mommy and daddy! We tend to get couped up in our Condo, and getting out takes a real effort.

This weekend, we zipped across town to Mississauga to get the babies hand and feet imprints done in clay. We really want to capture everything we can - they are at such a small, and cute stage and it will only happen once.

Yesterday night, we were privileged to have Sarah come and take care of the kids for the evening while mommy and daddy enjoyed some much needed time. We hit up a patio here in Yorkville soaking in all the vibrancy and atmosphere. Going out was something we used to take for granted before the kids came and we used to get out a lot - after the kids came it's something we treasure since we no longer have the ability to get out at will.

What's new?
Babbling! - yup the babes are just starting to babble and talk baby talk...so cute!
They are melting our hearts with smiles more and more - and they know it too!
They love taking baths - they love warm water.
Jaiden really likes being carried in the baby carrier - not so much for Ariya or Kailen yet.
